Young is a fifth-year PhD student in the Department of Germanic Languages. Her research focuses on pedagogy in 18th- and 19th-century German literature. As an instructor of record, she has taught all levels of the German language sequence and a translation course at Columbia. In addition, she has been a teaching assistant for Contemporary Civilization as part of the Justice-in-Education Initiative’s Prison Education Program. As part of her pedagogical training, Young has been involved with Columbia’s Center for Teaching and Learning as a Teaching Observation Fellow and Senior Teaching Consultant.
