Patrick joined the department in 2022 after completing a B.A. in Comparative Literature at Reed College. His dissertation project centers on the scene of sight and practices of visual figuration in Post-Romantic literature, poetics, and aesthetics from the Biedermeier period to early Modernism. His research interests include Romanticism, Biedermeier, Modernism, Aesthetic Theory, German Media Theory, Lyric Poetry, Poetology, and Visual Culture.
