The German Memory Wars: A Report from the Front, a talk by Dirk Moses with responses by Andreas Huysssen and Sonali Thakkar (Cultural Memory University Seminar).

In this seminar, Dirk Moses will discuss the recent constellation of memory debates in Germany. Dirk Moses is the Anne and Bernard Spitzer Professor of Political Science at the City College of New York. He has published on German intellectual history, memory and genocide studies. His latest book is The Problems of Genocide: Permanent Security and the Language of Transgression (Cambridge, 2021). He edits the Journal of Genocide Research and is finishing a book on traumatic memory and the catastrophization of politics called Genocide and the Terror of History.
