Rebecca received her BA with Distinction in History and MA in German Studies at Stanford University concurrently in 2019.
During her undergraduate studies, Rebecca focused on the history of genocide and post-conflict memorialization. Her Master’s work in German Studies explored the themes of “trauma and crisis” from the medieval period up to the modern era. Her research focused on representations of the divine after periods of historical rupture, especially in the poetry of Friedrich Hölderlin, Rainer Maria Rilke, and Paul Celan.
At Columbia, Rebecca is interested in exploring the intersections of trauma theory, memory studies, and atypical religious representations in literature and art.
