Alona Bach is currently the David Berg Fellow at the Tenement Museum. She recently received her PhD from MIT's Doctoral Program in History/Anthropology/Science, Technology, and Society (HASTS), where her research focused on Yiddish discourse about electric lights as they transitioned from spectacles to everyday technologies. She was a 2022-23 Yiddish Book Center Pedagogy Fellow and Translation Fellow, and has taught Yiddish courses at institutions including Brandeis, Oberlin, and YIVO.
