Romney studied German with English Literature at King’s College London, graduating in 2019 with a dissertation on the translingual poetics of Yoko Tawada and Julya Rabinowich, for which he received the Alice Emily Bithell prize. After teaching English in Vienna he joined the department in 2021. His current interests include Viennese Modernism, queer theory and literary engagements with nature from the 19th century to the present day.
