Pieter Lauwaert teaches Dutch at the elementary level. He is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Applied Linguistics at Teachers College, Columbia University. He holds a Master’s degree in Dutch as a Second Language from the University of Amsterdam where he also got his teaching certificate. At UChicago he pursued a Master’s degree in Education and Society and received a college teaching certificate in Second Language Pedagogy. He studied Dutch Linguistics at KULeuven and is a certified ACTFL-rater of Dutch. If he is not in a classroom, you can find him hiking in national parks or seeing obscure plays off-Broadway.
