Patrick Woodard

Patrick joined the department after receiving a B.A. in Comparative Literature from Reed College. His undergraduate thesis was a reading of Georg Büchner’s Lenz with an eye towards the Stimmung, or mood, of the text and its possible position within a more traditional, mimetic analysis.

Current interests include the History of Aesthetics, Hölderlin, Günderrode, Heine, Early Modernism, the Frankfurt School, and emerging conceptions of History around 1800.
