Christopher Thomas Hoffman

Chris graduated from Northwestern University in 2014 with a degree in Comparative Literature and European History, writing a thesis on the A three-year sojourn in Hamburg, Germany instilled a love in him for that salty German air, but he was very excited to continue his academic journey in 2017, pursuing a PhD in German Studies and a certificate in Comparative Literature and Society.

His academic interests include German 20th-century literature and film, the Euro-American critical-theoretical and radical traditions, and the literature of exile. German studies functions for him as his primary, but by no means only, terrain – he would like to work on the alignments and discontinuities of these topics in their French, American, and Turkish contexts, too.
