Lena Stenwall currently teaches Swedish at the Elementary and Intermediate levels. In addition to teaching she is responsible for matters involving Swedish language instruction at Columbia University, including the administration of Placement and Proficiency exams.
Lena Stenwall holds an LL.M. (Bachelor of Laws) (University of Stockholm) and an M.Phil. in International Law (University of Cambridge, UK). Prior to joining the Department of Germanic Languages at Columbia, she worked for the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs for 30 years. Her tasks at the Ministry were i.a. International legal issues, EU Law, Security Politics, including teaching and working as a Diplomat).
